The 1 micron sediment filter cartridge for the 10BB house filter is an Aquafilter melt-blown polypropylene filter cartridge designed for fine mechanical filtration of cold drinking water. It is made of pure polypropylene, with no added binders, resins, adhesives or other chemical additives, so it is completely safe for use with drinking water.

The cartridge is tested and certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI 42 (material requirements) and made in accordance with FDA guidelines (CFR Title 21).

How does it work?

The filter is produced by a single-stage extrusion process in which polypropylene microfibres are thermally bonded into a complex filter matrix with several fibre zones. These zones create a graded porous structure through the entire depth of the cartridge:

• the outer layers trap larger particles (sand, rust, silt)
• the inner, very dense layers also catch the finest impurities down to 1 micron

Thanks to such a fine level of filtration, this cartridge is one of the most capable choices in the FCPS series, especially suited to protecting more sensitive systems such as reverse osmosis membranes.
