Sintered carbon CTO 10 micron CB-AF is a coconut shell carbon block for drinking water. Reduces chlorine, odour and taste, traps particles above 10 µm.

CB-AF CTO 10″: coconut shell carbon block for mechanical and chemical filtration
The sintered carbon CTO 10 micron CB-AF is a cartridge of activated carbon from coconut shell, sintered into a compact, solid block. It is designed for mechanical and chemical filtration of drinking water: it traps particles of 10 microns and larger, and according to the manufacturer it also reduces chlorine, pesticides, insecticides, heavy metals (e.g. lead) and volatile organic compounds and improves taste and odour.
The manufacturer recommends it as the second or third filtration stage.
How does it work and where to install it
In a carbon block (CTO, carbon block) the carbon is sintered into a solid block, so water flows through a dense structure and comes into contact with more carbon than with loose granular fill. At the same time the block mechanically retains particles.
Install it after a sediment cartridge, for example a 5 micron sediment cartridge, and before fine filtration or the RO membrane. As an alternative see the PurePro CTO carbon block 5 micron, and for granular carbon the granular carbon cartridge LA 10 BX.
Who is it for
Choose it for drinking water from the public water supply or for pre-filtration ahead of reverse osmosis, where chlorine is the main problem. The page does not state temperature, pressure, flow, capacity and service life, so please contact us for the replacement interval.
Cartridge size
According to the data on the page, the cartridge measures 248 × 70 × 26 mm and is designed for standard 10″ housings. Before buying, check that it fits your housing.
If you are looking for a sintered carbon CTO 10 micron for drinking water or pre-filtration ahead of RO, the CB-AF coconut shell carbon block is a simple choice. Also see our other individual cartridges for water filters.
